Measured impact benches prove hardware survival rates
We do not rely on military packaging stickers or marketing adjectives. Every batch of protective smartphone cases, tempered glass shields, and hardware accessories undergoes calibrated mechanical testing in our partner facility before distribution.
Laboratory drop impact test sequence
Cases are fitted to precision weighted aluminium phone dummies carrying interior tri-axial accelerometers. The tower releases the assembly from heights of 1.2 meters, 2.0 meters, and 3.2 meters onto smooth concrete and polished tool steel.
Each sample endures twenty-six drops: six direct face impacts, eight corner collisions, and twelve perimeter edge strikes. A pass requires zero frame delamination, zero corner tear on the 85A TPU core, and peak g-force transmission under 120g to the inner cavity.
| Test Parameter | Apparatus / Protocol | Acceptance Metric | Batch Interval |
|---|---|---|---|
| Perimeter Corner Drop | Pneumatic tower at 3.2m | Peak deceleration < 120g | Every 500 units |
| Bezel Lip Clearance | Digital micrometer calipers | ≥ 1.4 mm screen / ≥ 2.6 mm camera | 100% of lots |
| MagSafe Inductive Pull | Digital force gauge tester | 11.2 N to 13.8 N axial holding | Every 200 units |
| Port Plug Wear Cycle | Cyclic pneumatic insertion | 5,000 cycles without fatigue split | Tooling sign-off |
Aluminosilicate glass stress and shatter deflection
Soda-lime glass breaks when bent past 4 degrees. Our tempered glass screen protectors use double-tempered aluminosilicate bathed in potassium nitrate salt baths for four hours at 420 degrees Celsius.
Three-point flexure and ball-drop verification
Two bench tests determine screen protector qualification. The three-point mechanical flexure test applies continuous load to the center of a supported 0.33 mm sheet. Our aluminosilicate specification sustains a 22 mm deflection radius before structural failure.
The vertical impact test drops a 64-gram solid steel bearing from a height of 1.4 meters directly onto the glass pane laminated to a baseline OLED panel. The glass must dissipate kinetic shock across its compressive layer without transferring crack propagation to the underlying screen.
Spectrophotometer clarity and anti-yellowing control
Clear cases manufactured with cheap polyurethane turn yellow within weeks due to photo-oxidation from UV radiation and hand sebum. We test every polymer substrate against calibrated xenon-arc exposure.
Oleophobic durability and UV delta-E metrics
Plasma-sprayed oleophobic coatings on our tempered glass screen protectors are abraded with steel wool loaded at 1,000 grams across 15,000 continuous rubs. A static water droplet contact angle above 105 degrees must be maintained post-abrasion to prevent fingerprint adherence.
For clear polycarbonate and TPU protective cases, optical yellowing is verified using an industrial spectrophotometer after 300 hours of continuous UV-B radiation. Formulations registering a Delta E color shift greater than 2.0 are rejected immediately.
